I’m a purist and typically don’t like any attempt at remixing music.  Especially pieces like Phantom of The Opera.  But some renditions are worth mentioning.  Evanescene was an unexpected voice for this, but has done a reasonable job at it. Quel Giorno is a beautiful piece, and Emma Shapplin…. well….  This is on my morning drive playlist, and definitely works like a massive sugar boost to get the soul going for the morning show. Youtube Link   ››More

Yet another reason to use online applications. In July 2006 the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Officers were given the authority to go through your laptops, and other digital media, just as they could go through books, etc. in your luggage.  They don’t have to give any reasons for conducting such a search, nor do they [...]   ››More

I’m so in love with online applications.  Gmail, Flickr, Picnik, Facebook, etc. etc. But I also hate having them inside tabs in internet browsers like Firefox or Internet Explorer.  Bubbles takes care of that, and let’s you run web applications (and even web sites) from within their own application “bubbles”.  I’ve just installed the application, [...]   ››More

I had written about online photo editors a few days ago.  The newest entrant in this category is FotoFlexer.  It’s not near as capable or sexy as Picnik, but still worth a try, if you’re looking for something simple and yet efficient.   ››More
